Pressing Instructions

At Ride & Thrive, all of our DTF transfers and gang sheets are designed to press quickly and last long. To get the best results, follow these step-by-step heat press instructions:

🛠️ What You’ll Need

  • Heat press machine (recommended; not an iron)

  • Teflon sheet, parchment paper, or finishing sheet

  • DTF transfer from Ride & Thrive

  • Garment of choice (cotton, polyester, blends, fleece, canvas, etc.)

🔥 Step-by-Step Pressing Guide

1. Prepare Your Garment

  • Pre-press your shirt or garment for 5–10 seconds at 300–325°F to remove wrinkles and moisture.

  • Make sure the surface is flat and smooth for best adhesion.

2. Place Your DTF Transfer

  • Position the transfer film design-side down on the garment.

  • Use heat tape if needed to keep the transfer in place.

3. Press the Transfer

  • Set your heat press to 300–325°F.

  • Apply medium to firm pressure.

  • Press for 10–15 seconds.

4. Let It Cool & Peel

  • Allow the transfer to cool down completely (cold peel method).

  • Slowly peel the film away from the garment to reveal the design.

5. Final Press (Recommended)

  • Place parchment paper, a Teflon sheet, or finishing sheet over the design.

  • Press again for 5–10 seconds to lock in durability.

  • This step increases wash resistance and gives a softer feel.

✅ Washing & Care Instructions

  • Turn garments inside out before washing.

  • Wash in cold water, gentle cycle.

  • Tumble dry on low heat or hang dry.

  • Do not bleach or iron directly on the transfer.

⚡ Pro Tips for Best Results

  • Always use a heat press, not a household iron.

  • Ensure your artwork is sized correctly before pressing.

  • When pressing thicker items like hoodies or canvas, adjust pressure slightly.

  • Practice on a test garment if you’re pressing for the first time.
